    BinGao is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural and BiologicalEngineering (ABE) at the University of Florida (UF). Before he joined the UFfaculty, Bin was a research associate at Cornell University and a postdoctoralresearch associate at Yale University. He earned his Ph.D. degree inEnvironmental Engineering at Cornell University. His B.S. and M.S. degrees werereceived from Nanjing University in China.Bin's research mainly lies in studying water quality and environmentalsustainability. It spans a broad range of topics including environmentalnanotechnology, biochar technology, environmental sustainability, contaminanthydrology, and hydrologic modeling.Because of the high quality research, he haspublished 94 peer-reviewed research papers in top-ranking journals, contributed6 book chapters, and applied 6 patents.Bin is arecipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2011),Outstanding Young ResearcherAward (FL-ASABE, 2012), and Giglia Endowment Award (UF- IFAS, 2012).
